We bought a Michelia Champaca tree about years ago. It has just started flowering (in Brisbane). We have recently heard that the tree shouldn't be planted near buildings/walls as the roots may damage them. Is this true? Our tree is around 4.5 metres from the house wall. Appreciate any information that will help with our query.
