planting dwarf plum tree

hi all, ive got a dwarf plum tree (mariposa) to be planted. ive got this space 4m x 1.2m right next to my house. in wondering if it is suitable to plant a dwarf plum tree there? or if i should plant the tree in a pot first before put it in the ground?

never had a dwarf fruit tree before and wasn't sure whether its root will be invasive or not. obviously wouldn't want the house foundation (concrete slab) gets damaged by the root system. any advice is welcomed! thank you!

Hi Penny, I would be very cautious about that. Some dwarf trees would be suitable but not plums as their root systems are very vigorous. Something to curtail the roots like a pot would be better.
