Five year old seedlings(2 years inground). Protected in winter with green house cover. Purple mangosteens apparently don't like being too close to the sea! I'm 300 meters away and both seem to be responding well and growing just as fast as the achachas. The spot has almost 360 protection from wind. House on one side, shed on the other, fence behind and a raised garden bed infront with shade cloth. Soil is high organic mix, with 20% clay and 10% sand. Only using Rainwater which I apply once weekly durign heatwaves and high avg temps

Extremely slow growing.. Maybe due to getting established but it seems to only push out new growth once a year! Beautiful amber color on new leaves which then turn to a dark green(as shown in photo). Like any of the garcinias I go light on the fertiliser
