Avocado leaves

Hi all,
I have 2 avocados tress next to each other. My older Lamb Hass is fine. Even fruited a little this year. The pictures are from my new(6 months in the ground) Shepherd tree. The leaves seem a bit droopy but it seems to have buds on the ends of the branches.
We have totally rubbish soil here. Shallow top soil over clay but it gets watered on a irrigation system 2 x weekly. I put in a drain at planting, it's on a slope and partially mounded up with mulch (but not near the trunk)

You might need manure to improve the soil, crack the clay.
