Avocado needs help

Hi My 3-4 y.o wurtz avocado lost its top in a storm and has grown all distorted, also los a lot of branches, can i cut the trunk shorter if so how low can i go, also when is the best tome of the rear to do this ... Thanks Trevor

IF you were to cut the trunk lower, make sure you don't go below the "grafted" area, otherwise any new growth will likely not be a Wurtz avocado.
Hope it does eventually grow back.

Thanks Avo L134, yes i was aware of that i took my photo up tp a good horticulturist and he suggests let to have is season of fruit the cut it back if it sprouts down the trunk i nay leave it and jus heavy prune,
