Richard Walter says... Id say most of the black sapote cultivars will grow and fruit well in Sydney. Like most tropical fruit trees the black sapote likes a fertile, well draining soil sheltered from the wind. In general though they are pretty hardy and easy to grow. Even seedling trees will start to bear fruit within a few years. Hope this helps!
