Carolyn starts with ... I hope you can help me. I have a mango tree in a pot which I recently bought at a nursery. The leaves are green in the middle and brown around the outside. Is that normal for this time of year or do I need to spray it with something? It did come from the nursery like this and they told me that it had just been repotted. thankyou | About the Author Carolyn4 w.a. 21st June 2011 3:05pm #UserID: 5454 Posts: 1 View All Carolyn4's Edible Fruit Trees |

Mike says... There are a few possible causes especially during winter while in a pot.Excess chlorides through salt or from excess fertlisers with chlorides burn the tips and sides of leaves. The blocking of potash uptake causes these symptoms. If the leaves are yellowing with burnt tips it could be copper deficiency.Flushing through with lots of water can help but don;t leave it continually moist.repotting a sick plant might cause too much shock. If it is anthracnose dilute copper oxychloride (ironically) sprayed every few weeks might bring it under control. | About the Author Cairns 21st June 2011 8:39pm #UserID: 5418 Posts: 1438 View All 's Edible Fruit Trees |

Wayne says... I think Mike is close to the mark here Carolyn. I don't think it is anthracnose by the way you describe the leaves being green in the middle and brown around the outside, anthracnose is more random than that. Perhaps a little liquid potash to get it over winter, and I wonder if the nursery added fertiliser when they re-potted it and burnt the leaves | About the Author Wayne 22nd June 2011 4:06am #UserID: 338 Posts: 908 View All Wayne's Edible Fruit Trees |

amanda says... My R2E2 is ready to flower but it's been quite wet and cold - does it look like it could have anthracnose do u think ...? It seems happy enough otherwise and it, and the King Thai plant, have handled the light frost and some hail really well...(planted in early autumn this year) (I won't be letting it fruit yet tho as it's still too young/small..? Is that right thing to do for mangoes as well..?) The other Mangoe Disease topic is too long now isn't..? I wonder if Correy can archive it somehow..?
