Jaboticaba Tree - bark colouring????

[Sorry - I don't know how to use this forum so the pictures may be out of order]
I bought a Jaboticaba Tree about 5 months ago from the Gold Coast. I had used PowerFeed about twice but it had resulted in loss of leaves, but the bark remained a healthy colour. The leaves still haven't grown back yet - could be because of the weather?
And a couple weeks ago, the bark began to peel and became a green and white colour.
Is it dying? If so, how can I save it?
Please help.

That looks like a pretty advanced plant for a 5 month old planting. It looks pretty good in the pictures. Hard to say from here why it might have lost its leaves - it has been pretty dry and they like a lot of water in a warm situation. I have seen some in soggy muck and they didnt seem to care even about that. Could it be too dry?

They seem to take a fair bit of fertiliser without too much trouble so I wouldnt be looking at a bit of powerfeed as a problem.

Give it another month and reassess it.

There may be problems with not enough soil under the tree. That would cause dieback at the top various other problems and loss of cropping potential due mainly to insufficient water. It could do with pruning to balance the growth. Both topping and thinning. It may need lots of water to fruit.

Regarding the changes to the bark, it's quite normal for it to shed in patches to reveal the new bark underneath. It is usually smooth and shiny and the older bark is flaky and brown.
