Cherry - Royal Rainier

Having lived in Seattle, Washington for 11 years, I got used to my yearly fix of Rainier cherries. They have a more subtle and delicious flavour than other cherries, and the blush colour is amazing in a fruit bowl or as a dessert. I'm taking a chance in our dry and windy climate on growing these, and had to prepare the ground well to ensure adequate drainage. They have sprouted good foliage after being received as root stock, and survived an onslaught of red-shouldered beetles.
