Our local selection of the Achacha, grafted for earlier fruiting. Fruiting in our Biodome here in the Nursery. The fruit are tangy and refreshing with a delicate subtle sweetness, a fine balance between sweetness and acidity, producing an unusual taste sensation. Very moreish. Fruit should be picked mature, as it does not ripen further on storage. Originating from the Bolivian part of the Amazon basin in South America, the Bolivian name of the fruit is Achachairu and translated means honey kiss. Achacha is protected by Plant Breeders Right (PBR) and cannot be grown or propagated without licence agreement with Achacha Fruit Group

A delicious juicy blood plum with pale skin and deep blood red flesh. They have a sensational flavour with a smooth, soft texture and lots of juice. The Dorrigo Blood is a superb choice for cooler climates although they will crop in the subtropics. Cross pollinate with a Satsuma.

Canistel - Grey

Canistel Grey is a large elongated variety with a unique shape, ripening in late winter/Spring in the subtropics. Canistels are best eaten when they are at their optimum ripeness to achieve a creamy consistency and a sweet custard flavour. Their flowers are formed on their branches, a feature called cauliflory, enabling them to be pruned to keep them small. They tolerate the subtropics quite well.
