leaf attack on stone fruit (forum)

Virginia starts with ...
Leaf attack on peach and nectarine trees: New shoots appear to be chewed off and a sticky resin-like substance develops on the site.
Almost all new shoots are affected. I was told it was caused by the oriental moth and could only be treated with chemicals, which then cause an outbreak of spider mite. What organic action can I take to solve the problem? Virginia

I had a bit of a look around the internet and there are some products on the market that are pheromone-based meaning they put out an odour that stops the male oriental fruit moth from knowing which female moths are ready for breading. Here is an example

So this one is not going to kill beneficial parasites and preditors which may cause an outbreak of something else.
I don't think it is totally organic but appears to be better then normal pesticide.
