Protecting Raspberries

    1 responses

Sharon starts with ...
I have some fruit forming on my Autumn Bliss Raspberry, and I really want to protect it from anything nasty, like birds or other pests. I have made some little bags out of netting to tie over the branch, but am concerned about excluding pollinators such as bees.
Does anyone know at what point I can safely cover them? Some are still buds, while some have opened up and are starting to form fruit.

Yes the Autumn Bliss Raspberry does benefit from bees pollinating them.

I found this amazing article on pollination, raspberries and bees.

I would love to see some pictures of your raspberries.
