Sharon starts with ... I have some fruit forming on my Autumn Bliss Raspberry, and I really want to protect it from anything nasty, like birds or other pests. I have made some little bags out of netting to tie over the branch, but am concerned about excluding pollinators such as bees. Does anyone know at what point I can safely cover them? Some are still buds, while some have opened up and are starting to form fruit. | About the Author Sharon2 Maleny QLD 23rd January 2008 6:27pm #UserID: 604 Posts: 2 View All Sharon2's Edible Fruit Trees |
Correy says... Yes the Autumn Bliss Raspberry does benefit from bees pollinating them. I found this amazing article on pollination, raspberries and bees. http://gears.tucson.ars.ag.gov/book/chap7/raspberry.html I would love to see some pictures of your raspberries. | About the Author Correy Woolloongabba, QLD 2nd February 2008 2:24pm #UserID: 3 Posts: 493 View All Correy's Edible Fruit Trees |
