STRAWBERRY, Fragaria virginiana

One of the best fruits for small space, strawberries are perfect for pots and patios. The name strawberry is often thought to come from the fact that a mulch of straw is perfect to keep the fruit off the ground, however it more likely originates from the old name strewn berry referring to the fact that the runners love to spread themselves from the parent plant. A delightful fruit used in desserts and sauces, but always best picked and eaten straight from the garden.

Strawberry - Sugarbaby

Pack of 5 runners available April. A mid-season variety with exceptional flavour characteristics, attractive red, glossy, conical and medium-sized with resistance to rain damage. Flesh is bright red, of low acidity, and excellent sweet flavour. Fruit are well displayed, and easily harvested. Fruit production commences in early June and will continue cropping through spring.

Strawberry - Lowanna

This is a highly productive selection that is suited to cool climate in NSW and Victoria. The fruits are uniformed in size, large, red and glossy. Fruit is light red in colour.

Strawberry - Redlands Joy

Pack of 5 runners available April. One of the sweetest strawberries in Australia, suitable for for warmer subtropical climates. High yielding and productive throughout the season. The fruits are softer and lighter in colour than the Californian varieties. Resists rain damage, very popular for local sales.
