Black Ants in my fruit tree mounds (forum)

M Nash starts with ...
I have black ants mounding up soil around my young avacodos, Custard apples, and citrus mounds.
They are pushing soil right up against the trunks and up stakes.
Should I be worried?
If so, what shoud I do that isnt going to kill the trees?

Hi M Nash,
Try this brew (This is from the 'guru' up here).
Mix together, 1 cup raw sugar, I cup breadcrumbs & 2 tablespoons Boron.
Place this on the ground and cover with an icecream container. This will get rid of all the ants.
If rain washes it away, mix up some more.
