I think the China flat peach is a low chill variety - which means that it tolerates warmer climates.
High chill means that it needs to be quite cold i.e. many cold days per year.
My understanding is that it is ok to have a tree that needs low chill in a high chill area but not the other way around. (As long as they can tolerate frosts)
I live in Perth and have seen the china flat peach and may buy one when i find a spot in my garden for it.
They are available on the Diggers club web site which gives some information about them.
You could always Google for more information too.
Good luck!
