I have had a fig tree in the ground for about 5 years. It came from a frineds large fig tree. While the fruit looks great it is dry inside - never moist. I have no idea why the fruit is dry. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Hi Jim
Perhaps more water is needed?.
I think fruit can be dry if there is not enough water.
The reverse also applies - too much water and the flavour of the fruit is diluted. Some commercial growers 'flood' the trees before harvest so the plants draw up more water. The fruit is wetter and therefore weighs more so the consumer has to pay more for it.
I read this somewhere.
Hope this helps: o )
