Hi. We have a hazelnut tree which I believe to be a Cosforth. What tree do I need as a pollinator? Also, when your site mentions hours of coldness to fruit, exactly what does this mean?

Hazelnuts need multiple pollinators as the plants flower in different sequences each year. thus you need at least 3 varities.
Hours below 7 degrees celcius.

Morning,
we have just purchased via email some hazelnut trees, but I am concerned that we dont have the correct varieties to pollinate all the trees. does it matter which varieties we have, or do you need specific trees for each variety.

I wonder if you can help. I have one Halls Giant (pollinator) and two Ennis trees. I am wondering if I need a third variety just to be sure. They were only planted last year and are doing well but too early to know if nuts will be forthcoming.
(Yes I know I live in Canberra but the nuts in Parliament House are further down the road) :)
