Michael says... Hi there - Carrie mangoes are popular to grow in the US . Not sure if we have that variety in Australia. Anyway regarding your problem I would definately stake it higher . You should also cut off the top part to induce side shoots. This will keep the tree from getting bigger and too thin at the top . What are other people's thoughts ? You might want to check out the below forum site. It's one of the best for US tropical fruit growers. http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/tropicalfruits/ | About the Author Michael Wakeley 13th March 2010 9:00pm #UserID: 1746 View All Michael's Edible Fruit Trees |

Jupiter says... My carrie mango is the exact same size, age, and is doing the same thing. I researched the forum Michael recommended and found most people agreed that with a tree that age you should remove some of the flowers. That is what I did. It seemed a lot of people don't agree on staking so I decided against it. My tree popped right up. | About the Author Jupiter Fl 23rd March 2010 7:05am #UserID: 3499 |
