Mango tree (forum)

Hello
I started a mango tree from seed two years ago. It has done well even in this climate. It is about two feet tall. It will send out clusters of leaves that grow large in three or four days. After that they mature then develope a proble. They seem to start to dy from the outside of the leaf toward the center. They then fall off.
It has not happened to all the leaves just some of them. There are some original leaves that are unaffected. Otheres that I cut the withering part off have survived and are doing well.
There is no sign of insects and I have sprayed with pyrethrin spray to no avail
Does anyone have any idea as to what this is. This tree is becoming a pet peave to see how big I can get it.
Thanks
John

Hello John
I think it could be one or two things, Anthrocnose [which I don't think it is] or a shortage of Potash.
Spray with copper oxichloride combined with mancozeb with a wetting agent [most important] for the anthracnose. If you can't get those use a copper base spray for fungus.
Fertilise with sulphate of potash as well as a good quality fertiliser.
