It's a walnut 100%, healthy one too. They wont grow in my soil the annoying little buggers. Yet 20km away in sand they grow perfectly

wild walnuts grow along stream banks and spread by floods, maybe worth trying proper walnuts there too. Preferring banks with silty loam.

Jason, just got back onto this subject, thanks for the answer. Local knowledge. This is atop a hill, northerly aspect, exposed and loving it. This is a great site.

Looks more like an Apricot to me? (try eating a few. if you get sick & drop dead,, then it's something poisonous, otherwise it's edible! :-) ).... I Used to do that little test on wild fruits myself, until one day,I got a mouthfull of something that tasted "Aaaaghh!",, I never did that again.) ... No,, Seriously now,, the only sure thing I can say about it is .... "It's Green." (that was a quote from Mr.Scott in Star Trek.
