Can anyone tell me how invasive the underground roots of a pandanus palm is. We have one very close to our pool and I am wondering if it could cause damage to it.Thanks

I doubt invasive.
A. They dont sucker, they use prop roots with fibrous roots below surface
B. They are monocots and so the roots don't expand over time which is what cracks pipes and foundations
C. Councils love them

I'd say they are just like any palm tree

Donna , get rid of it as soon as you can, we just found a massive leak in our pool and realised it was the roots of the pandanus Palm that has broken the pipe work . Big job to now fix and seeming like a larger problem just to remove the palm itself. Good luck!!
