passionfruit fungus

    1 responses

We have red and a yellow passionfruit vine growing side by side. The fruit has what I have found on the internet a fungus called brown spot. It happened last year and the fruit was inedible. So far only two of the yellow fruit have started ripening and both have brown spot. Does anyone know if it is safe to spray the rest of the fruit which are all big now before they ripen with a fungicide?

Hi Nick, I'd spray with copper oxychloride asap. Don't forget to add a good wetting agent, as p/fruit & leaves are very hard to wet.
Mix 30g Copper oxy with 4½ litres water, and 30ml wetter. If you find the spray doesn't stick, add more wetter.
Spray weekly until it clears up.
