Bucko says... Hi Amanda, Yes its really disapointing, the peaches from last year were fantastic. I suspect Oriental Fruit Moth is the problem, well it seams to fit the description... "Infestation can occur any time from late September till the end of the season. Wilting lateral tips are the first sign of infestation. Splitting shoots in half will reveal a tunnel following the centre of the shoot. When fruit are infested, the larvae normally enters near the stem and burrows into the stone leaving a trail of brown excrement. Fruit often gums at the point of entry." http://www.sardi.sa.gov.au/pestsdiseases/horticulture/horticultural_crops/apricot_pests__and__diseases/oriental_fruit_moth I'm in Brisbane. | About the Author Bucko Brisbane 2nd October 2009 9:48pm #UserID: 0 Posts: |
