Bought a delicious red fleshed papaya from local IGA, but it had maybe 5 seeds in it instead of 500. What the????

Hi SG, I've bought 3 packets of seed-less watermelon seeds, and they were all EMPTY! :-)
The red papaya seeds should grow tho. Usually, the pale coloured seeds are the males, and the dark ones the females.

Yes Phil, if a babaco is close to another carica say mountain papaya there will be seeds inside the fruit. Dont know if they would be viable though because babaco itself is a natural hybrid!
