M Nash starts with ...
I just bought a grafted Tweed Crisp Jakfruit and was wondering who else is growing them and what results they are getting or any other information. This type was developed by Fruit world in the Tweed shire.
Are "Crisp" as sweet as soft types?
I did get the low down from Fruit World on how to grow them, Just looking for others experience.
Cheers

Have also seen it growing at TFW, I had a taste and it was like bubblegum, very sweet.

Thanks Simon. Thats good to know.In my experience, Crisp fruits sometimes are disappointing in the sweetness. Now I can grow it with some confidence of getting a sweet fruit.

To rehash this old post.
Since day one it produced fruit almost all year but jettisoned them, as per most imature trees.
This warm season the fruit held.
The tree would be 16-18 foot and has eight soccer ball sized fruit with more comming on.
A few questions.
Do I need to protect from F Fly?
How does one tell when ready to harvest or how to harvest?

If you want to sell one of them when they are ripe I'd love to take one off your hands.. otherwise, enjoy! My Tweed Crisp and Black Gold are years off producing anything...

I shant be selling anything to you Phil, I waited so long to get fruit so id rather share one with you.
Just need to know what to do from this point. I might give TFW a call tomorrow.
They are busy people but if you get the right person at the right time, they spend a lot of time particularly if its one of their babys
