Do you mean peanut butter tree or peanut? Peanuts grow as an annual, you can just get hold of raw peanuts and sow them in warm weather. Peanut butter tree is a subtropical fruit with a red berry, only named as such as the texture is similar to peanut butter.

Peanut tree - Sterculia quadrifida. Relative of flame tree that produces an attractive lobed pod that splits open to reveal black seeds that taste similar to peanuts?

Found a fruiting peanut tree growing near the hospital in Murwillumbah, seeds germinate very easily, were up a running in less than a week. Quite a spectacular fruit with edible seeds as well. Seems to be an indigenous local plant.
