Which Mulberry Tree? (forum)

Can anyone advise me the best variety of mulberry to plant in my medium sized inner city Melb back yard (12m x20m)? I was looking at a Hick's Fancy as a smaller tree? I've found conflicting info on the size of a Black English. 4x4 or 10x10. Quite different!

If you can get hold of a red shahtoot give it a go. Great productive tree on dwarf rootstock, doesn't get much more than about 15ft.

Thanks Phil. Just heard from Daley's that they have the dwarf red shahtoot.

Great - hey sometimes CERES in East Brunswick stocks them, so does a little Greek nursery opposite Dan Murphy's in a little side street near Bell St, Cobug. They get a fair amount of stuff in from Daleys, might be closer to you.

Thanks heaps Phil.
I did end up getting one from CERES. A handy birthday voucher from my mum.
The freight from Daleys killed that idea!
It's in the ground and hopefully will do well.
Cheers.
