Currently I have 2.  One is 1mtr high, which I bought at the market, not long ago.  Stil in it's pot awaiting planting.  The other is a seedling 40cm high, still in it's pot which I bought at a nursery two years ago.  I'm trying to shape it, so I pruned back hard last winter.

Olive Tree 7/10

Bizibee's Edible Fruits
Update: 172 days 14hrs

Comments: -

I forgot what type of olive tree this is, but I do remember I bought it from a nursery and the  main reason I bought it was because it produced very large fleshy olives.  I've had in a pot for 2 years.  It's not doing as well as I'd like it to.

Brown Turkey Fig 10/10

Au0rey's Edible Fruits
Update: 226 days 4hrs

Comments: -

I have two brown turkey figs. Both are in pots. One is having developing figs while the other was thought dead till it started to produce green buds and now leaves. Am very very estatic that it is alive and glad that I did not give up and bin it...It is from Fleming's nursery.

The other one is just another brown turkey fig tree from a normal nursery and was much cheaper. However, this brown turkey tree did far better than the Fleming's in terms of growth/development and in fact figs from both trees taste equally good.

I think it's a luxury to pick and eat figs from your backyard, and I'd love to try making fig jam once the trees are big enough to provide me with surplus fruits.

Olive - Arbequina (Seedling)

Cam's Edible Fruits
Update: 552 days 12hrs

Comments: -

This plant is said to set fruits early and is more suitable in warmer areas. Why did it buy it then? Well it was my husband who bought it. He knew I wanted an olive tree, so when he saw the trees at Bunnings he picked this tree out of the lot.  ( *.* )

We planted this tree on the nature strip facing north/east. It has rather survived it's first Winter quite well, I guess olive trees in general are quite tough. There's hardly any growth in height but I see a lot of flower buds forming on the tree.

Pomegranate - Rosavaya (Seedling)

Cam's Edible Fruits
Update: 552 days 13hrs

Comments: -

Rosavaya is a variety from Russia producing elongated fruits. Although the appearance of the fruit is not as attractive as its American (Wonderful) counterpart, they make it up for the taste.

The current size of the plant may be too small and fragile to be planted in the ground so I planted in a bigger pot until next Winter.

Planted in bigger pot in September 2010.
