The fruit has a pale orange skin that is inclined to be puffy. Excellent flavour however the fruit can be prone to drying if harvest is delayed. Loose skin that is very easy to peel. Most popular mid season variety.

The fruits are similar to the Washington but they are picked a couple of months later in the season. The fermented pod of this climbing orchid is harvested from the Vanilla Vine or orchid, an aromatic sweet scents used to flavour cakes, and perfumes. Must be hand pollinated. The only insect capable of pollinating the blossom is the Melipona, a bee (see video) , native only to Mexico so all plants must be hand pollinated within 12 hours of the flower opening. The pods take nine month to develop.

Cassowary love feeding on the large fruits when in season. Also called the mango pine, this deciduous or semi-deciduous tree is found in New Guinea and Australia chiefly in coastal areas. The glossy leaves tend to be whorled at the ends of the branches, The fragrant white flowers are in long pendulous spikes and appear just prior to the new growth flush.
