Black Sapote - Seedling

I like a challenge. Living in the arid zone, hot dry summers and cold winters, I have developed protected areas in my large garden where rainforest plants survive and fruit. I always buy 2 plants and keep one in a pot for a while so I can move it around to suit its needs. I plant the other out in the best place I can and use Envy for frost protection until established. Fruit would be a bonus. Let's hope.

My first sapote tree ever. I planted it beside the persimmons. Looking forward to the first crop.

We have 3 black sapote seedlings - 2 in pots undercover, 1 planted in ground in garden. The plants in pots are growing well. The plant outside was damaged by frost and lost it's leaves, but plenty of new growth now!
