Pollinators for the Cherry - Sunburst

Sunburst Cherry will set fruit on its own but it will fruit more abundantly when paired with the following

Cherry - Stella

$44.00 ($44.00-$44.00 choose a size)

A large sweet red to dark red cherry. Stella is an excellent choice for backyards as it is compact, growing to about 4 x 4m. Mid - late season maturity. High chill, requires cold winters for satisfactory fruiting

These plants are often purchased together. Also check plant information for suitability in your orchard.

Cherry - Royal Lee

$79.00 ($59.00-$79.00 choose a size)

Delicious, medium to large, dark red cherries, with a rounded to heart shaped look. This is a low chill cherry, requiring 200-400 hours of chill. Royal Lee requires a pollinator which has traditionally been the older Minnie Royal but flowering times of these 2 can be mismatched in warmer areas and an intermediary is helpful. The newer, self pollinating Royal Crimson blooming can bridge between these two. Bees are the main pollinating insects, so plant flowering herbs to attract them to your garden. Other stonefruit may also provide pollination services. Plant within 5m of each other for best results. Hand pollination could be helpful in years where flowering times are mismatched.

Cherry - 2 way Minnie Royal / Royal Crimson

$119.00 ($109.00-$119.00 choose a size)

Low chill 2 way cherry tree. Two varieties in one tree. Cross pollination in close proximity for more fruit set. Sweet, flavourful red to deep red cherries. A favourite for all. Plant in full sun and free draining soil. A useful tree to pollinate other low chill cherries

Almond - Self Pollinating Papershell

$74.00 ($49.00-$74.00 choose a size)

Excellent, self-pollinating almond that bears heavy crops of soft-shelled almonds with a good, sweet flavour. The kernels are broad, full and oval in shape, they are mid season. The tree has an upright form and is a self pollinating large Papershell. Almonds require a climate with dry Summer/Autumn and cool winters.

Pear - Beurre Bosc

$59.00 ($44.00-$79.00 choose a size)

Large fruit, russet yellow-brown colour. Flesh is yellowish-white and juicy with a coarse texture and slightly granular. Flavour is very good and sweet. Full flavour develops after three to four weeks under refrigeration. Mid-season maturity. Recommended by Flemings Nursery - Pick of the CropPollinator Williams, nijiseiki

Pear - Williams

$42.95 ($42.95-$52.95 choose a size)

Often called 'Bartlett' or Bon Chretien. Medium to large in size and very juicy with a sweet flavour. Pale green at picking, ripening to a clear attractive yellow, sometimes with a slight blush. Used for fresh fruit, juice, stewing, preserving and drying. Early season maturity. Pollinated by 'Beurre Bosc' or 'Nijisseiki' nashi. Partially self-fertile.

Dwarf Mandarin - Emperor

$46.95

The fruit has a pale orange skin that is inclined to be puffy. Excellent flavour and loose skin that is very easy to peel. Most popular mid season variety. The fruit can be prone to drying if harvest is delayed. Flying Dragon modifies the top growth making this a dwarf plant that is ideal to use planted out or as a pot specimen. Trees will grow to about half the normal citrus size. Flying Dragon rootstock also adds cold hardiness and grows well in heavier soils, like Trifoliatia rootstock.
