Soooo many lemons and only 6 mnths old!

The fruit tastes well and it is small enough to grow in a pot on the patio

Question:

It is variegated, however a lot of the new growth reverts back to just green. As there isn't a lot of growth, i'm a bit worried that if I kept pruning the green growth off, there wouldn't be much left on the tree - the variegated branches don't seem to grow very vigorously at all :(
