Acerola tree dropped all leaves (forum)

Sunny Day starts with ...
I bought Acerola plant a year ago. It was doing fine and had some flowers that dropped in strong wind. During winter it dropped all leaves and still no leaves. Sydney winter hasn't been too cold so I am not sure if the tree died or if there is a chance it will come back? I read it is evergreen.... Any thought on this?

Hi Sunny,
Acerola may drop leaves in winter depends on where do you live. However, you can check by scratching the stems or trunks to see there is a green tissue under the bark which indicates it still alive. New shoots/leaves will grow back in Oct (in Melbourne) but I am not sure in Sydney. Cheers
