Almond tree & Persimmon tree

Hi! I'm in Melbourne & have a small long strip for the backyard. I'd like to plant Almond & Persimmon trees. How invasive their root systems are? If I plant them in pots, what are the likely problems including their longevity? Would I need to trim the roots every now & then? What kind of pots should I use? Thanks so much!

Almonds do not like pots,I have never met anyone growing them in pots - that's not to say none do of course. I also know a lot of people who Bonsai and none do almonds either which can be a sign pots do not suit them much.
Persimmon do not have invasive roots and should do ok .Maybe a pair to ensure a good crop?Almonds grow quite large with time (in the ground) and there is one that doesn't need a cross pollinator..a papershell I think?

Thanks for your response! They are both self-fertile. I'm just going to start them in big pots for now & try and find space later. I still have to find out where the sewage pipes are as well. Thank you again.
