Anthracnose (forum)

Jason starts with ...
I have a very old ( 10m high ) Kensington Pride mango on a property where I have lived for the last 4 years. In the first 2 years, we had more mangoes than we knew what to do with. However last year and again this we've had bugger all due to anthracnose (sp?). The last 2 years we have had significant falls of rain 100mm + in june/july when the mangoes are in flower. Question is, now that there is anthracnose in my tree, am I stuck with it, or is it only due to rain at the wrong time? I'm aware of the treatment for this problem, but it seems a complex and probably expensive option.
Thanks

Same problem here in Mackay Jason, I'm going to cut my tree right back after the season to force some new growth but I doubt if that will fix the problem. Some trees around here have plenty of fruit, some none. Some trees have fruit almost ready to pick and others are just setting. My tree bloomed three times this year and I'm going to be lucky to get a dozen Mangoes from it
