Pretty marginal, the sea stops frosts.

But saying that I have had ice on my sleeping bag when bombing up at the range just north of there.

The soil is typical Perth sand and needs lotsa manure.

Hi Sue - I have a Pink lady and a Fuji here in Gero. They are ok - but tricky. They don't like the salty air or scheme water here (yours maybe better?) I am going to see how mine go this season (they now 2.5yrs) otherwise I was considering pulling out - or grafting a pink lady branch onto the Fuji.

The Fuji seems to b doing better so far. They get get knocked around by the wind a bit..but they grow. Any manure should be fine if it's well made and aged ok. Having said that - I don't use chook manure here at all because of the salt issues with it.

Whats your soil like? It is really alkaline?
