Samuel starts with ...
Hi, I can't get a picture( because it's night right now,but I do so need an answer!)Anyway , I brought 2 apple varities: Red Delicious and Granny Smith.They're still quite young. Because I live in Melbourne, the winter is always wet and dull.My Granny Smith began to have "burnt" edges on the leaves. Then as matters grew worse, it began to have red veins and the tiny small leaves of the buds began to turn into a red-pink colour. On the older leaves, dark red spots began to appear on the surface. The leaves nearest the top bud began to curl up. Help me!
The Red Delicious is doing very well, except my mint grew a little bit rampant and attacked the apple's root system, but I trimmed its thick roots. What will happen when the mint attacks the root system?Thanks

Hi.
Although it could be diseased, it sounds like your Granny Smith is preparing for winter. They don't enter dormancy gracefully.

As for the mint, it's fine. It will compete for nutrients but that what plants do. Be sure to keep the mints growth (leaves&stems) at least 30cm away from the trunk to keep humidity down which will help prevent fungal disease.
