Peter91 starts with ... Hi, i'm wondering if anyone has any grafted unique varieties of the Asimina Triloba? Or seeds within Australia? I'm looking for specific cultivars, not just seedlings, and maybe someone can also answer, do Asimina's grow true from seed? For example will a Pennsylvania Gold seed grow as a PG tree? Or does it need to be grafted? | About the Author Peter91 NORTH PLYMPTON,5037,SA 26th January 2016 11:47pm #UserID: 11892 Posts: 111 View All Peter91's Edible Fruit Trees |
allybanana says... Hi Peter I am not sure how true a PG seedling will grow, if it is on its own and has self pollinated, at least some seedling should be good. I am currently growing a collection of seedlings including some from Phil and some PG from seeds Jamshed gave me also some seeds from e-bay supposedly from a commercial Asimina grower in US. I will try and graft and sell some PG August this year as part of an Eden Community Garden project. Hopefully in six or so years I will have some new good varieties from seedlings. | About the Author allybanana EDEN, NSW 20th February 2016 5:36pm #UserID: 4544 Posts: 372 View All allybanana's Edible Fruit Trees |
