BACON AVOCADO IN POT

If anyone has had fruit from a bacon avocado grown in a pot,can you please let me know if there's any problems with them and how many years it will last. We've run out of space in the ground and wish to avoid tree root damage as its roots are invasive? Problem is they're too big to re - pot every few years.

Lynne,
I have had a bacon in a pot but they are a lot of work to keep watered properly, ie not over or under watered. After four years it was still unsuccessful at fruiting.

I have now put in the ground but development is slow. From what l have seen and read pot culture for avocado's is not really worth it, except potentially with Wurtz.

Regards

Dave

Thanks Dave. I won't put it in pot then. With our cool climate, I'm not sure how well Wurtz would do. Maybe will try and prune it so the bacon doesn't grow too big as a way of limiting any root damage.
