Banana flower problem?

    0 responses

Nathan in Syd starts with ...
I've never grown bananas before but I have a dwarf cavendish (Nathan var.) that has been growing quite well. The flower however is cramped up in the centre of the tree. Not sure if this is just a stage (though it doesn't seem to be coming any further out) or maybe characteristic of dwarf bananas? I'm a little concerned about how the bananas can develop, particularly the ones right in the centre that I can barely see down the throat of the plant. Perhaps I'm overthinking and it'll sort itself out but if anyone has other advice I'm all ears?
