Hi - I am seeking recommendations on a fig variety for dried baby figs (which I would like to marinate in syrup). I heard Ronde de Bordeaux was good for this but can’t see it for sale anywhere

Hi Tamargrower,

In Australia most common dried figs are Brown Turkey, White Genoa etc., but if you are looking for a baby fig similar size with RDB or VDB then celeste fig is the one. Unfortunately, Coles or Woolworth doesn't list the name of the dried fig. Celeste is easier to find/grow and dry than RBD or VDB. Cheers

Hi Tamargrower
by baby figs do you just mean small figs?
violette de bordeaux is almost the same as rdb.
another one would be negretta which is quite rare.
i have cuttings of both
and should have little tree for sale in about a month.

* David01, I haven’t been able to find any Celeste, any suggestions as to where I can find them?
* Peter30001, one of each would be great if possible?
