Best time to spray peach trees

Hi all,

Could someone tell me when is the best time to spray my peach trees? Last year I did spray but my trees still got some degree of leaf curl. I hope to prevent it completely this spring.

I read from Yates 'For peaches, spraying is best in late winter when buds first swell (bud scales start to loosen)' I am not sure what that means. I know winter is the best time but every peach tree may be faster or slower in growth in the same winter and I want to catch the exact timing.

I can see tips of green leaves and tinge of pink from the buds. Do you think I can spray?

Is Mancozeb better or copper fungicide better?

Thanks!

Spray now or its too late.

Whn bud scales loosen is when the buds swell, the fungus hides under those scales, too early and you don't get the scales, too late and the fresh young bud is infected.

Every tree will need it's own spray timing.

Copper now, mancozeb after bud opening.

Yes, fully open buds will be burnt by the copper.

I have a peach tree that has buds showing pink... But it still has lots of last season's leaves. Should I spray it now or not?
