Black lines on Lemongrass.

    6 responses

I've recently bought a lemongrass from Daley's and after about a week it's developed this raised black lines on the leaves. I can scrape most of it off with my finger but it looks set in.

I'm suspecting it's fungus rather than bugs.

Has anyone seen this before? Any tips?

Thanks in advance.

Could it be rust on the lemon grass. I noticed some black lines on my plant the other week.

Plus one with Navman, rust.

Just give it a hedge cut, splash it with mangozeb and throw down some chook poo around the base and watch it go berserk.

Otherwise just cut off the effected leaves, its tough. Handle the leaves with care though its sharp like glass.

Hi Rahaidi,
I was given some lemon grass and have three smallish plants which came from a pot and have been in the ground about a month. Should I be cutting them back to encourage growth or just let them do their thing?
thanks,

Hi Brad, with the onset of warmer weather here in Perth they should be good for a trim. I find that they fatten up more doing this a several times in the growing season.
