Samuel Z. starts with ... Hi I have a Nazemetz feijoa and also a white goose feijoa growing in a large pot. For some reason they have developed black spots over the leaves and young stems and on the underside of the leaves, there are purple patches. Is this a fungal infection and if so, what can be done to get rid of it? I water it adequately and feed it well. Thanks

Kephas says... It's more likely to be fungal, rather than bacterial. Treat with a fungicide. If feasible, use a rotation of different fungicides in your spraying regime. Don't splash the plant directly when you're watering. Likewise, don't splash soil onto the plant. Give some Nitrogen. Also worth checking for any insects that may be spreading the fungus and, deal with them as well. Next year, conduct the usual fungal preventative regime from late Winter to early Spring, to prevent spores on the ground getting onto the plant. | About the Author KANGAROO FLAT 18th November 2019 11:00am #UserID: 21048 Posts: 9 View All 's Edible Fruit Trees |
