Buds Disappearing (forum)

Black Sapote starts with ...
Each year our black sapote looks set to give a great crop. Buds grow, then one morning almost all gone. Next morning all gone. Not on the ground, so something eating them. Could be possums or flying fox? Any suggestions on the cause and possible solutions. Netting did not work last season.
