Cherry tree pest problem

Hi. This cherry tree has a pest problem on the branches and leaves. I've seen small caterpillars on the leaves, and applied pest oil. Not sure about the markings on the branches. Any suggestions for dealing with these pests? Thanks!

I can't see any caterpillars in your photos, but if they look a bit like small black slugs, that would be the cherry slug, which are produced by a type of wasp. These are a common cherry problem - look them up on the internet.

Hey, thanks for the reply. We do have some of those black slugs, so I'll look into those solutions.

Do you think the scaly texture on the trunk is related?

Thanks, Steven.
