AM1324 starts with ... The tree was planted by the last owners and they themselves said they didn't know what type of citrus this was. Last year was the first year that the tree actually produced fruit (after 8 years of living at the house) but I was on holiday and came home to a 3 or 4 rotten ones lying on the floor so couldn't identify them. This year the benches are full of fruit but I have no idea what kind of fruit they are. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Fruitylicious1 says... HI AM Looks like a lisbon lemon to me because of the numerous vicious thorns adorning the branches of the tree. It might have sulphur deficiency though because of the exceptionally thick rind. I'm also tempted to say it might be a trifoliate orange tree that's commonly used as a citrus rootstock again because of the abundant spikes and the spherical appearance of the fruit. Send us images again when they are ripe maybe we can identify it better. Also don't forget to mention the average size of the fruit so we can compare it to other citrus varieties.
