wateva starts with ... Hi first time poster. A year ago purchased a washington navel and transplated into much larger pot. Over the last year have been fertilizing with seamungus, aged chicken manure, occasional seasol nd always kept watered. New season growth of leaves and flowers look like their growing as they should but over the year the mature leaves keep dropping off and today the leaves keep dropping. From the pics I have provided (colour of leaf etc) can anyone tell me what the issue could be? Appreciate your responses.

Jaraed says... I'm pretty sure leaves tend to drop off with age or after a flush of new leaves. If it's growing plenty of new leaves it shouldn't be a problem. Not sure if true but I've heard that citrus leaves photosynthesise best in the first month or two of there lifetime. This is why citrus has flush growth so it can maintain its ability to get energy from the sun. So I don't know but maybe after not providing energy to the tree for a certain amount of time the leaves just drop and its probably a good thing cause it makes room for the sun to hit your high energy producing new leaves. Hope this makes sense and good luck. The leaves in picture 2 look fairly healthy so I doubt it's a nutrient issue. And for context my blood orange has just had a huge flush of leaves and is dropping like yours as well. | About the Author Jaraed ALDINGA,5173,SA 10th September 2021 7:18pm #UserID: 22172 Posts: 10 View All Jaraed's Edible Fruit Trees |
