Does anyone know where I can obtain a small damson tree or sapling? have been unable to find one anywhere in Melb. Area. Am willing to come & dig up myself if anyone has one they don't want.

Yalca fruit trees in Vic has them listed in their mail order catalogue but their season has closed until 2011. As it's getting on in the year you'd be unlikely to find any stock in nurseries. Hopefully someone will have a spare home grown plant somewhere.

Sorry i mixed up the locations maureen and phil hope this is better

I grafted some damson plum this year but the shoots are still a bit fragile.

There are millions of bullace plum http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damson scroll to characteristics line two) seedlings on family farm in ACT, they are very similar to damson and very tough. I could try and post one to you if you would like, they are only just breaking dormancy.

I am sorry maureen but i got the reply after i had left the farm and got back to Eden. As it is they are now growing strongly and it would be probably best to wait until winter when they are dormant before they are dug up otherwise they dont take disturbance well, but if you are still interested then i will be glad to send.
