drumstick tree

The drumstick tree I have grown since mar 2008, purchased from Daleys. It had always been lanky but I still managed to eat the leaves fresh in salads - taste smaller leaves like a pea, larger leaves like a pea but a little bit of a bitter taste afterwards. It grew many flowers and then finally 3 pods which I allowed to dry on the tree (photos). I have sinced picked the pods 30cm length will try to grow more trees. The tree has grown to 2 metres in height and I will have to move it to a more sunny sight it also needs repotting but I will not do this until some of the seeds have grown. I am going to sprout some of the seeds to see what that is like but besides grinding the seeds to purify water what else can I do with the dried seeds?

Once they're dried, just use to grow more or as you said, use for water clearing.
Immature pods are a great vegetable chopped into 5cm lengths and added to curries.
they can get stringy if allowed to get too big before picking.
in that case, just peel some of the fibres from the outside skin as you prepare them.
The tree can grow from large cuttings I believe.

I am about to prune my drumstick tree. Anyone nearby to Greenbank, Logan can come and pick up cuttings.

Also the curry leave plant has produced suckers and I am about to get rid of them. Any one interested?

Greenbank in Brisbane?
Just so happens that I am picking up a tree from a nearby grower this weekend. A curry tree sucker would make the drive well worth my while. Let me know if you're available Sat/Sun morning and I'd love to pick one up!
